Can you move the sink to the other side of the kitchen?

Usually, yes. Hot and cold supply pipes go almost anywhere without fuss. The waste pipe is the one that needs thought, because it must keep a fall to the drain. Get us in before the kitchen design is final and we'll tell you which walls the sink can live on without expensive gymnastics.

Do you fit kitchens bought from Howdens, Wickes or IKEA?

When should the plumber get involved in a new kitchen?

Before you order the kitchen, ideally. Ten minutes of looking at where the pipes actually run can save a design that assumes the impossible. First fix happens after the old kitchen is stripped out, final connections after the worktops are on.

Here's the call we get too late, about once a month: the new kitchen's ordered, the island's going in the middle of the room, and the design has the sink in it. Lovely. Except the waste pipe needs a continuous fall to the drain, the floor is a concrete slab, and nobody asked a plumber.

Appliance fitting, done right

Washing machines and dishwashers look like plug-and-play. Mostly they are, and then occasionally the isolation valve behind the machine is seized, the hose is two inches too short, or the standpipe drains into nowhere useful. We fit appliances with proper isolation valves so the next swap takes minutes, and we'll cap off old supplies rather than leaving live pipes buried behind cabinets. You'd be surprised what we find behind cabinets.

Fitting a whole new kitchen? For bigger projects we coordinate other trades the same way we do on bathrooms: one point of contact, one schedule, no gaps between the fitter finishing and the plumber starting.

Can the sink move to the island?

Depends on the floor and the drain run. Suspended timber floor: usually fine. Concrete slab: possible, but it means channelling, and you want to know that before the quote for the kitchen is signed. Ask us early.

Do you install boiling water taps?

Yes. They need a filter, a tank under the sink and decent isolation. Honest opinion: in a busy household they're genuinely useful. In a quiet one, the kettle was fine and the filter subscriptions add up.

Just need a washing machine plumbed in?
