Questions people actually ask
Compiled from real phone calls, not a marketing meeting. If yours isn't here, the phone works too.
Money
How much do you charge?
Depends entirely on the job, which is why we won't print a rate card that'd be wrong half the time. What we promise: fair, competitive rates, a clear cost before any work starts, and no quiet extras appearing on the invoice. Quotes are free.
Is there a call-out fee?
For normal booked work, the price is the price we agree. Emergency callouts can carry an extra fee depending on the hour and the urgency, and you'll hear the number on the phone before anyone sets off, so the decision is always yours.
Can you help with insurance claims?
Yes. We do insurance-related plumbing work and can provide the reports and documentation your insurer wants. Speaking from experience: photograph everything before you touch anything, it makes the claim smoother.
The work
What areas do you cover?
Warwick and the surrounding area: Leamington Spa, Kenilworth, Stratford-upon-Avon, Wellesbourne, Southam, and the villages in between. Details and honest travel times on the areas page.
Do you do commercial work?
Small commercial bits occasionally, but large commercial installations, no. LMC is a domestic company on purpose. If your job's out of scope we'll tell you in the first minute, not after a site visit.
Are you qualified and insured?
Fully qualified, Gas Safe registered, and covered by full public liability insurance. Every job comes with a workmanship guarantee. If something's not right afterwards, one call brings us back.
Can you arrange other trades for a bigger project?
Yes. Bathrooms and kitchens usually need a tiler and an electrician, and we bring in trusted ones and schedule them so the job flows. One contact, one plan, no gaps.
Your home
Do you take your shoes off indoors?
Yes, and people ask this more than you'd think. Shoes off or covers on, your choice. It's your house.
Will you clean up afterwards?
Always. Dust sheets during, clean-up after, and the work area left the way we found it, minus the leak. Old parts and scrap pipe go with us and get disposed of properly.
Do I need to do anything before you arrive?
Clear the cupboard under the sink if that's where the job is, and know where your stop tap lives. That's genuinely it. Don't clean for the plumber. We've seen worse, we caused some of it.
Emergencies
Are you really available 24/7?
For emergencies, yes. The line's answered around the clock, every day. Non-urgent calls at 2am will be lovingly redirected to the morning.
What counts as an emergency?
Water you can't stop, ceilings getting wet, no heating in cold weather, a house made unusable. The emergency page has the full list and the stop-tap drill worth learning before you need it.
Question not on the list?
