Since February 2019
The company is one bloke and a van
And that's the point. Here's who you're actually hiring when you call LMC.
The short version
Luke Coen, plumber
LMC Plumbing & Maintenance is Luke's company. He's been a self-employed plumber since February 2019, working out of Warwick, and the initials over the door are his. Gas Safe registered, fully qualified, and insured with full public liability cover.
Most trades websites would stretch that into a paragraph about "our team of dedicated professionals". There's no team. There's Luke, plus trusted local tilers and electricians he pulls in for bathrooms and kitchens when a job needs them. If you'd rather hire a company where the person who quotes, the person who works and the person who answers the phone are all the same person, that's exactly what this is.
How the business actually grew
No advertising budget, no leaflets, no vans with slogans. LMC grew the slow way: do a small job well, get asked back for a bigger one, then get passed along to the neighbour, the sister, the landlord who owns three houses on the same street. Most of the diary is repeat customers and recommendations, which is the only marketing metric that means anything in this trade.
The reviews say the same things over and over, and they're the things Luke actually optimises for: turned up when he said, priced what he quoted, finished when promised, left the place clean. One Trustpilot reviewer called him "a really nice guy motivated to do a really good job", which is about as good as plumbing compliments get.
House rules, self-imposed
- Shoes off at the door. Your carpet didn't hire us.
- Prices before work, always. Surprises belong in birthdays.
- The honest answer even when it's "you don't need us for that".
- Dust sheets down, mess cleared, old parts and scrap pipe taken away and disposed of properly.
- Every job backed by a workmanship guarantee. Problems get one phone call and a return visit, not a debate.
What we don't do
Large commercial installations. LMC is a domestic company by choice, because homes are where one careful person doing the whole job beats a rota of subcontractors. If your job is a factory or a forty-flat block, we'll say so straight away and you'll have lost nothing but a phone call.
That's the company. This is the number.
Say what needs doing and you'll get a straight answer on cost and timing.
