How long does a boiler installation take?

A straight swap in the same location is usually done in a day. Moving the boiler, converting from a system boiler to a combi, or upgrading gas pipework can stretch it to two or three. You'll know before we start, and the heating never stays off overnight without warning.

Should I repair my old boiler or replace it?

A useful rule of thumb: if the boiler is over 12 years old and facing an expensive repair, replacement usually wins, because the next fault is already queuing. If it's under 10 years old and the fault is minor, repair it. We'll give you a straight recommendation either way, and we do both, so there's no incentive for us to push one answer.

Do you install a magnetic filter with a new boiler?

Yes, we recommend one on every install. It catches the sludge that circulates in older radiator systems before it reaches your new boiler's heat exchanger. It's a small extra cost that protects a much bigger one, and most manufacturer warranties expect the system to be cleaned and protected.

Which boiler do you actually need?

This is the question that matters, and the answer's usually simpler than the sales sites make it. For most Warwick homes with one bathroom, a decent mid-range combi is the smart buy. You're paying for reliability and parts availability, not the badge. Bigger house, two showers running at once? Then a system boiler with a cylinder earns its keep, and a combi would leave someone shivering.

We size the boiler to your house properly rather than guessing a kilowatt number. An oversized boiler short-cycles, wastes gas and wears itself out. It's the most common mistake we see on installs done in a hurry.

The bits people forget to ask about

A new boiler is only as good as the system it's bolted to. If your radiators are full of ten years of sludge, that sludge heads straight for the new heat exchanger, which is why we flush the system and fit a filter as standard. It's also why manufacturer warranties get picky. Skip the flush and you can void the cover you just paid for.
